Assembly and automation — finished product, not just parts.

From a robot that degates and stacks inside the cycle to a cell that welds, labels, tests, and boxes, API builds the level of automation the program can justify and runs the rest by skilled hands.

One supplier from resin to shipped unit

Packaging, assembly, and secondary operations at the molder shorten the supply chain, remove handling and freight between vendors, and put one quality system around the whole product. API offers every combination from fully manual to fully automated assembly so that the process fits your volume and budget rather than the other way around.

Robotic automation

Six-axis and top-entry robots at API hold ±0.5 mm placement repeatability and run alongside the presses and in stand-alone cells. Our automation lab integrates custom and off-the-shelf robotics for:

  • Part, runner, and sprue removal, degating, and separation
  • Insert loading for insert molding and transfer for two-shot work
  • Part placement, orientation, sorting, and stacking for downstream operations
  • In-line and cellular assembly, vision inspection, and packaging

The automation case study shows how this changes cost, consistency, and lead time.

Assembly and secondary operations

  • In-cycle assembly and dedicated in-house assembly lines
  • Ultrasonic and sonic welding, heat staking, and mechanical fastening
  • Hot stamping, pad printing, silk screening, and painting
  • Wire dressing, hardware insertion, and electro-mechanical sub-assembly
  • Ultrasonic cleaning, lapping, and light machining
  • Functional and visual testing to the control plan

Packaging, kitting and shipping

Custom packaging, kitting, labeling, and batch traceability are handled on site. Four truck bays and a drive-in dock support LTL, full-truckload, and parcel shipments, with one-day ground access across much of the Northeast and scheduled releases against blanket orders.

Frequently asked questions

Does Autronic Plastics do assembly as well as molding?

Yes. API offers in-cycle, manual, semi-automated, and fully automated assembly, plus welding, staking, decorating, testing, kitting, and packaging, so finished product ships from the same building the parts were molded in.

What kind of robots do you use?

Six-axis and top-entry robots integrated at the press and in stand-alone cells, with ±0.5 mm placement repeatability, handling part removal, insert loading, sorting, assembly, inspection, and packaging.

Can you ship directly to our customers or distribution centers?

Yes. API supports custom labeling and packaging, LTL and full-truckload freight, and parcel shipments from four truck bays and a drive-in dock.

Want the finished product, not the parts?

Send a model or a sketch — an API engineer will review it and tell you how we would build it.
