The quality system
Autronic Plastics operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system covering design, mold construction, molding, metal fabrication, assembly, and shipping. Inspection plans are tailored to each customer's drawing and specification; inspection reports and customer specifications are retained electronically; and procedures are written and owned by the department managers who run them.
Three elements drive the system: the ISO 9001 standard, the customer's exact specification and delivery requirements, and API's own expectation that a part should be right the first time.

Certifications and compliance
- ISO 9001 Certified — ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, registered with DQS Inc. (ANAB-accredited) since October 1999; certificate registration no. 10005443 QM15. View the current certificate (PDF)
- UL Certified molder and assembler
- Processing of FDA-compliant, UL-recognized, RoHS- and REACH-compliant materials as the program requires, with certificates of conformance and material certifications on request
Registered scope: the design, development and manufacture of custom injection molded parts; the design, development, manufacture and assembly of retail-centric security packaging, life and health safety equipment, medical and other products; and the design, development, manufacture and maintenance of injection molds and associated tooling.
If your program has requirements beyond these, tell us during quoting and we will confirm how they are met before any tooling is cut.
Scientific molding and process control
Each tool is qualified with a documented process window: decoupled fill, pack, and hold, gate-seal and cooling studies, and recorded setpoints that are restored every time the mold goes back in the press. Closed-loop temperature control, central drying, and robotic part handling remove the variables that create scrap on difficult resins.
Inspection and metrology
- Coordinate measuring machines with touch and video probing
- Optical comparator, gauges, pins, and fixtures built to the part
- Computerized SPC on critical dimensions
- First-article inspection and in-process checks to the control plan
- Destructive and non-destructive functional testing where specified
- Design-of-experiments methods for process development and troubleshooting
Documentation and traceability
Lot and batch traceability runs from incoming resin through molding, assembly, and shipment. Inspection records, process setups, and material certifications are kept electronically and are available for your audits. Molds are tracked by shot count for preventive maintenance in our tool room.
Frequently asked questions
Is Autronic Plastics ISO certified?
